WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

The EU provided significant practical and political support

A unique perspective: for the first time since the 1990s, five actors who were instrumental in designing, implementing and directing EU policy-making in Northern Ireland will be reunited to discuss the past and future of EU relationships with the six Northern counties, and the island of Ireland as a whole.

This event will comprehensively describe how the relationship between Northern Ireland and the EU has been much more significant in the peace process than previous studies have suggested. The event involves two interconnected roundtable discussions:
  • The first will be focused on the genesis of the EU role in the Northern Ireland peace process.
  • The second roundtable will  focus on Brexit and the future.
